Who we are

We are very lucky siblings, Tim and Laura, who inherited the “Dream Home” designed and built by our parents, Peggy and Bill Bradshaw, in the early 80s in Mission Beach.

It is a family home and was never intended to be used as a rental. However, taxes being what they are in California…suffice to say, here we are looking for people who will love and enjoy it as much as we have for a month at a time.

The house is part of a duplex, and together they maintain an HOA that stipulates “No Short-Term Rentals”. Short term is defined as anything less than 30 days.

Casa Toulon is located at the corner of Toulon Court and Bayside Walk in Mission Beach (San Diego), which is a spit of land separating the Pacific Beach and the “Sailbay” portion of Mission Bay.

The front of the 2,200 SF, home is filled with large picture windows that provide a constantly changing scene of beachgoers, dogs, boats and watercraft of every variety and weather which changes on occasion.

This is a “modern” style house from the 1980’s which means that it has clean lines and an open floor plan. It is a family home with real artwork and beloved décor mostly acquired while Bill and Peggy traveled during their retirement.

The 65’ bayside front yard provides the perfect location for hanging out with your coffee or adult beverage, greeting passersby, and watching the pelicans dive for fish. In the evening, you can start up the fire pit and watch the moon rise over the bay.

When you get hungry you can cook something up in the completely stocked gourmet kitchen or walk a block to the “boulevard” and take your pick from a steakhouse, gyros, to excellent Mexican dive.

If you want a more private experience, you can retire to the upstairs patio or balcony, both of which have provided excellent Wi-Fi reception for working….if you must. They also have 180-degree views of that gorgeous bay.

There is Wi-Fi sufficient to work remotely and most of the conveniences of modern life, except for the one that global warming has brought with it: air conditioning. There is a heating system but no A/C. We do have lots of fans, and the air moves well through the house by leaving doors and windows open.

After the sun sets, you can watch the SeaWorld fireworks from the front yard or make your way back to the beach and walk North to find some nightlife. Regardless of what you choose to do, this home is sure to help you relax deeply.

The front yard is a more public outdoor space with the subtle obligation to hand out treats to passing dogs. This tradition has been going on so long that they will stop and look at you expectantly.
